Synopsis:

An in-progress documentary following the movement of women across the country seeking to change the face of our democracy. This is an intimate story of those new to politics fighting for their communities and navigating challenges on and off the campaign trail. Hillary Bachelder is a documentary filmmaker living and working in Chicago, Illinois. She first moved to the midwest from her hometown of Farmingdale, Maine to pursue a degree with Northwestern University and has since spent four years working with the renowned social issue documentary producers, Kartemquin Films. Before making the move to freelance in 2016, she led a number of post-production teams, edited, and ultimately managed all of the organization's in-progress films as Kartemquin's Director of Production.

While in Chicago, she earned editing and production credits on over a dozen critically acclaimed films and series, including the Emmy-award-winning Trials of Muhammad Ali, Al Jazeera America's Hard Earned, and Raising Bertie. In 2015, she was selected to participate in the prestigious Sundance Documentary Edit and Storytelling lab as an up-and-coming editor of promise. Embodies, a film she directed, shot, and edited, premiered at the Big Sky Film Festival in 2014.
